Course Overview
While technology changes fast, Blockchain technologies progress at the speed of Blockchain is revolutionizing the way businesses work. If you’re a software developer aspiring to develop for the Blockchain, this workshop will bring you up to speed!
This 2-day workshop will introduce you to Blockchain technologies, including Smart Contracts, Non-Fungible Tokens, and Decentralized Apps. You will be exposed to blockchain applications such as escrow services, payments, and NFT Minting through case studies and hands-on demonstrations. You will also set up your own Ethereum node, write and execute your first Solidity Smart Contract, and deploy a Decentralized App.

What You'll Learn
Day 1: Basics of Ethereum
This session focuses on what Ethereum, and on a generic scale, what Blockchain is. You will set up your personal Linux environment on the cloud and run an Ethereum node to connect to the Ethereum Blockchain. You will also set up a private Blockchain among course participants.
Day 2: Solidity Smart Contract & Distributed Apps
This session focuses on Smart Contracts development. You will write a smart contract and deploy it on the Ethereum Blockchain. You will develop a Distributed App that allows your smart contract to be executed via a web user interface. To consolidate your knowledge, you will code a small project that incorporates everything that you have learnt. To end the session, we will discuss possible use cases for Smart Contract and the Blockchain.
Equipment
Participants have to bring their own laptop, with administrative privileges that allow them to install required software during the workshop
Certification
Participants will be issued with a Certificate of Accomplishment upon meeting 75% of the required course attendance.

Jackson has been a Programmer, Marketer and Technopreneur in the fields of Technology and Information Systems. His passion for writing software and sharing the knowledge brought him into education. Today, Jackson is a Lecturer, committed to inspiring people young and old to write codes and build projects that will help us all work, play and live better.
